  • Disco Throwback

"You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" is a song by British band Dead or Alive on their 1985 album Youthquake. Released as a single in November 1984, it reached number one in the UK in March 1985, taking 17 weeks to get there. It was the first UK number-one hit by the Stock Aitken Waterman production trio. On the US Billboard Hot 100, it peaked at no. 11 on 17 August of that year.

  • Record of the Week

"Holding Back the Years" is the seventh track on Simply Red's debut studio album Picture Book (1985). It remains their most successful single, having reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the UK Singles Chart. It is one of two Simply Red songs (the other being their cover of "If You Don't Know Me by Now") to reach number one in the US. It also reached number four on the Adult Contemporary chart. "Holding Back the Years" had initially been released in the UK the year before, reaching number 51. The song was nominated in the category of Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals at the 29th Annual Grammy Awards.

  • 7 Song Shuffle

As always we have 7 songs with a possibility of 14 points up for grabs. This weeks was an 80's Special Shuffle which got a lot of love. Not only did we get a full house but a lot of them. I was blown away by the reaction this got. Looks like 80's is the way to go for my listeners.

  • Craigyboy's Triple Tracker

This is the newest feature to the show, we get the computer system here at The Big Saturday Night Show to pick out 3 tracks from its database at random so even I don't know what its going to pick until it plays us a little teaser of the 3 songs before playing them in full. As we cant play you full songs on this blog you can check out the videos of the chosen tracks.
